Kia Picanto Tyre Pressure

Here's everything you need to know.

No one likes warning lights flashing up on the dash, especially the dreaded Engine Management Light (EML).

Luckily, the tyre pressure warning light on your Kia Picanto is nothing to worry about and is easily fixed.

How much tyre pressure should you have in your Picanto?

This depends entirely on how many people you’re carrying, how much luggage you have on board etc…

You can generally be safe with 30 - 33 psi in the front and back tyres of your Picanto, but always check your owner's manual or the sticker inside the driver's door frame for the exact recommended pressure.

Kia Picanto TPMS reset button location

The TPMS reset button on a Kia Picanto is located under the steering wheel and is a small black button with a tyre pressure symbol.

BUT...

You may not have a TPMS reset button if you have a newer Kia Picanto.

Newer models have a self-resetting TPMS system, which means that the light will automatically turn off once the tyre pressure has been corrected and you've driven the car a short distance - giving it time to get its bearings.

If you need to reset the TMPS on your Picanto, follow the below:

  • Park your car on a level surface
  • Turn the engine off
  • Press and hold the TMPS button until the warning light on the dashboard blinks three times
  • Release the button
  • Start the engine and drive the car for at least 20 minutes

If the light doesn't switch off after 20 minutes, you might need to get it looked at by our Kia qualified technicians at Blackpool Kia.

But if it does switch off, great - we're glad this guide was of help to you.
